Vision Board 2023 Recap & 2024 Changes
After creating my 2024 Vision Board, I thought it may be fun to recap on my 2023 vision board, tell you what I accomplished, and how I created this year's a bit differently.
Originally, this was only going to be a podcast episode, but I thought it'd have a bigger impact if you could actually see this vision board and walk through it with me. So, thanks for entering into my Substack, and let's begin! In the name of ease, I'm going to talk about each section of my vision board separately, in no particular order.
First, we have hobbies.
I'm excited to say that many of my hobbies are the same this year, with way more emphasis on art.
But for 2023, I had art, roller skating, pottery, reading, surfing, and plants.
I added two pictures of two plants I wanted, a Queen Anthurium and Burle Marx Fantasy Flame. Super freaking stoked to say I have a Burle Marx Fantasy Flame now, although I have been slacking with my plants and hope it's not on the brink of death. *sweats nervously and decides to water my plants after this essay is written*
The quote I had in this section is, "My goal is to wake up every morning feeling overwhelmingly thankful about the kind of life I've created for myself," and I think, overall, I did wake up most mornings like this.
2023 was for suuuure a year of gratitude, and I will definitely carry this into 2024.
I can't say that I dived into too many of the other hobbies, though.
I did start creating more tangible art! Which we do love.
This year, 2024, I’m deciding to hone in on what I already know a bit about and want to do more with. Instead of adding in new hobbies I'd hoped to learn, I thought about what hobbies I already have, that I'd like to get 12% better at. (I am confident I can maintain 1% growth per month.)
Next up is Travel
I didn't create a travel section this year, 2024. Instead, I added traveling to my hobbies.
But, in 2023, I had hoped to get "more and more confident on the ski lifts and the slopes with each snowboarding trip we take," AND I DID! I rode multipleeee ski lifts by myself, for multiple trips. Which is huge! I also must say I am at least 12% better at snowboarding than I was when I started, so that's cool to say and see.
I also wrote that I'd be getting paid to travel and explore new places through sponsorships, content, and speaking events. This didn't happen, although I know this is in my future. Maybe the next 5 years? I'm excited for it, but I don't need it right now!
In the general sense of 2023 travel, I went to a decent amount of places with friends and family. I made a few trips to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennesse...and I feel like I'm forgetting places. Anyway, Tucker has an impeccable year of travel to say the least.
Next, let’s talk about Personal
I am really, really happy with my personal life, growth, and love in 2023. Unbeknowst to us, my husband was told he'd be deploying for six months in April. While I'd always prefer having him home, it did give me a loooot of time to grow my relationship with Jesus, do more writing, work out...all of which were in the personal section of my Vision Board.
This year, 2024, I do not have 'personal' section, but instead have a section called 'home', because I realized that is what personal means to me.
Anddd now we have Community
My 2023 community goal was to come together and break bread, dance my little freaking heart out, and hold my commitments.
I did as such and more, I'd say.
I became the two-step and line-dancing queen. (Okay, not the best, but in my head, after a couple shots of vodka, I was Baby, and you couldn’t tell me differently.)
I also participated in (then led) a local Transformation Table, led 2 additional Bible studies, and became what I’d consider to be pretty involved in Church.
Additionally, I grew wayyy deep with my IRL friends. I love my people. I love being around my people.
This year, my community goals are pretty similar. Depth. Impact. With God, my IRL community, and my online network. To love strong, and soft.
Okay. I love you. Thank you for being here. And next up, I am talking very vulnerably about money and business.
